The Studio is a locally-owned, non-profit Music, Dance, and Activity Center for the Centreville, Brent and surrounding communities.

The vision of the Studio is to provide artistic education and opportunity for students to develop their God-given creativity through the arts and to provide resources for building a stronger and healthier community. We are a locally owned, locally run, nonprofit arts and activity center for Centreville, Brent, and the surrounding communities. We offer ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop dance, and baton for children. We also offer private instruction in piano, guitar, and violin, voice, and Kindermusik classes to introduce young children to music. Karate and Jiu-Jitsu classes are open to both children and adults. We engage in community outreach that will help transform the future of the communities we serve.

SUMMER AT THE STUDIO!

We have a lot to offer for both kids and adults this Summer at The Studio! Registration is open now!

Kids Jiu-Jitsu Fun Fridays Four Fridays full of grappling, games, food, and fun! Ages 5-15. Family is welcome. May 19, June 23, July 21, and August 18 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. $80 for the whole summer.

Adult Jiu-Jitsu for ages 13 and up. Ongoing classes. Tuesdays 6:30-7:30 p.m.; Wednesdays 6:00-7:00 a.m.; Thursdays, 6:30-7:30 p.m. $75/month. (Advanced Classes Tuesdays & Thursdays 7:30-8:30 PM)

Dance Intensive for students age 10 and up. Three sessions each day: ballet/barre, yoga/stretch, and choreography. This is ideal for dance students who might be interested in pre-pointe next year. We will work hard on technique, stretch it all out, and learn a fun routine. June 16 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. & June 17 from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. $50

Dance Camp: Rainbow Unicorn for ages 3-5. Join us for some magical days of learning ballet. Each day will have a different color theme! July 24-28, 9:00-11:00 a.m.  $85 

Dance Camp: Shipwrecked! for ages 6-10. Hop aboard for a dance adventure with pirates! This camp will be a combination of ballet and jazz. June 12-16, 2:00-4:00 p.m. $85

Baton Clinic for ages 8 and up. We will work on footwork, twirling skills, and a short routine. July 22, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. (may adjust times based on skill levels) $35

Dance Abilities We are excited to announce our new dance camp that offers movement and basic dance step instruction with attention to sensory regulation and learning based on each student’s abilities. It is led by Kelley Stringfellow and Leanna Stephens. Kelley is an occupational therapist currently serving a pediatric population in our local school system and has taught dance for over 10 years. Leanna is a special education teacher and has also taught dance for more than 10 years. June 20-23 3:00-3:45 p.m. (may adjust times depending on level of enrollees) Ages 5-13. $75

Piano Lessons 4 weekly lessons depending on the teacher’s schedule. Keep your skills up over the summer! $60 for ages 5 and up.

Art 8 weekly lessons throughout the summer from June 1-July 20.

  • Ages 6-9 will be drawing using pencils, pastels, and markers. Thursdays from 3:30-4:30. $120 plus $15 for supplies.

  • Ages 10 through adult will be drawing and oil painting. Thursdays from 3:30-5:30. $240, supplies not included.

General Policies

Tuition Payment: In addition to the $25 annual registration fee, tuition is $20-$45 per month, depending on class, from September to May. Payment is due at the first class of every month. A $10 late fee will be assessed after the 10th of each month. There will be a $10 service charge on all returned checks, and all following payments must be made by cash, card, or money order.

Attire: Each class has required, assigned attire, which can be purchased through the Studio.

Hair should be pulled back into a ponytail or bun, if long enough. If too short, please fix hair away from face. No large earrings or jewelry. 

General Policies: Arrive punctually and dressed for class. Please account for time to change clothes and use the bathroom prior to class time. This is especially important for our young students. Always bring required books, shoes, uniform to every class. All supplies need to be labeled and should be carried in a bag. Shoes for class should not be worn outside. All bags and personal belongings are to be kept in the holding area. Students should wait in the waiting area until class time. Please drop off and pick up students on time—Studio staff cannot be responsible for supervision of students outside of class time. For safety, horseplay of any kind will not be tolerated. 

Recitals: Students will be responsible for the cost of costumes if required.
