Dance Classes

Most of our dance classes are some type of combination class--we have something for every dancer! We have the traditional ballet, tap, and jazz classes, modern hip-hop and lyrical, advanced classes in all styles, and a recreational class for the older beginner or casual dancer. All of our classes perform at our spring recital, and we have periodic parent visit days throughout the year.

Pre-School Dance
Our youngest dancers, ages 3-4, will love this 45 minute combination class of ballet and tap. Using fun games and songs, students will begin to learn the fundamentals of dance. They will perform two numbers at the spring recital.

Kindergarten Dance
For students in Kindergarten (new or experienced). They move to a longer class time (1:00) and add jazz to their repertoire of ballet and tap. They will perform three dances at the spring recital.

Elementary Dance
Students in 1st-4th grades will continue their study of ballet, tap, and jazz. A longer class time (1:15)  allows them to progress in their dance skills. They perform three dances at the spring recital.

Recreational Dance
For students 5th grade and older who do not desire the more intense intermediate and advanced classes. This fun 45 minute class focuses on jazz, with elements of ballet and lyrical dance included as appropriate. They will perform one dance at the spring recital. This is a great class for both the older beginner and the student who has taken dance in the past, but finds the traditional combination class to be too demanding.

Intermediate Dance
This 1:15 class is for dancers 5th grade and above who are ready to intensify their training and learn more advanced technique. They must pass off a set of readiness skills to be admitted into the class. They will strengthen their ballet technique to get them ready for pointe, as well as continuing jazz and tap. They perform 2-3 dances at the spring recital.

Advanced Dance
6th grade and up
Ballet en pointe, Jazz, Lyrical
The advanced dance class is for dancers who have shown their commitment to discipline in dance, have begun ballet en pointe, and are in at least the 6th grade. They must pass off mastered skills for admittance to the class. Class includes pointe, jazz, and lyrical work. They perform three numbers at the spring recital.

Advanced Tap
This 45 minute class is for dancers 5th grade and above who want to take tap to the next level. This class uses musical theatre tap and rhythm tap steps to make the tapper more versatile. They perform 1-2 numbers at the spring recital.
