Perry County Community Fun Day & Frontier Residency Open House

Cahaba Medical Care hosted the Perry County Community Fun Day and Frontier Residency Open House on July 15th. “We are beyond grateful for all of the organizations and small businesses who gave their time serving our Black Belt community,” stated Lashandra Walter, Nurse Practitioner at Cahaba's Marion Clinic.

We were able to offer free health screenings, resources, face painting, food, shaved ice, and live entertainment. Thanks to the Live Promotion from WJUS 1310 AM, members of the community near and far could share in the excitement and fellowship. More than 75 people were in attendance throughout the event. Mainstreet Marion presented welcome gifts to the Frontier Residents and door prizes donated by Cahaba Medical Care, Horseshoe Farms, Sowing Seeds of Hope, CHOICE - Uniontown, and Mrs. Frances Ford, Perry County Health Coordinator were given away. To add to the excitement, many joined in a turn around the dance floor doing the Flex, Electric Slide, and Old Town Road line dances.

During the event, the members of the Cahaba + UAB Family Medicine Residency Frontier Program were introduced by Dr. Laura Lishman and Dr. Michael Luther. With the presence of the new doctors, Cahaba Medical Care - Marion is looking forward to expanding its hours to include Saturdays, walk-ins, and urgent care services.
